What I’d like to see is a local Libertarian Party that has successfully helped defeat a foolish county tax increase, that is working with a social justice group and a fiscally conservative group to stop an even more foolish and costly tax proposal. One that engages in local street cleanup efforts. One that has a bank account that is solvent and growing. One that is helping a neighboring county organize an LPAR affiliate. One that is open and accessible.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I FOUND AT THE MONTHLY MEETING IN BENTONVILLE LAST NIGHT.

Libertarians (and voters and taxpayers!) need that kind of LP presence in every county in Arkansas. The primary reason is that there are 75 county Quorum Courts and more than 600 City and Town Councils in Arkansas. Every one of them is capable of proposing and imposing foolish and costly proposals on their citizens.

Both of the Dinosaur Parties are responsible for the ‘foolish and costly’ things that happen at the local level. We Libertarians are the only political party organized to give taxpayers a break.

Get in touch with the local party and get active. If there is no local party, get in touch with LPAR and get organized. The only alternative is to meekly accept – and pay for – Foolish and Costly…
