Transportation
On January 31st, I broke my right arm while struggling with four assailants. I was able to subdue three of them, but the fourth….okay, no assailants were involved. I was taking our trash can to the curb and slipped on the ice. How embarrassing. The net result is that I did not drive for most of the month of February and transported no one to and from work and home, shopping, legal and medical appointments.
Training in Law Enforcement Procedures and Practices
The Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards & Training provides hundreds of on-line classes on topics related to police authority and operations. I have passed 80 hours of them. If you have questions or concerns about policing in your community, call me.
Broken Windows Policing WITHOUT Police
In coming months I hope to learn more about local government policy and activity concerning issues like panhandling and homelessness/indigents.
At the same time I’d like to find out how the general public feels about the same issues.
Question One – How do you feel about individuals standing at busy intersections, soliciting donations?
In addition, I’d like to see how the public views the work of Code Enforcement in the area.
Question Two – How many employees would you guess work for Code Enforcement, Planning and Development and similar departments?
Include your location in all responses, please.
