Constable Gilbert’s July, 2025 Report

Seven months into my term as Constable of Big Rock Township, I am beginning to understand the potentials and limitations of the post better. For that reason, I am placing a couple of my projects on standby, awaiting more resources or better understanding.

Specifically, the effort to find a way of ending or even slowing the tidal wave of unsolicited phone calls is on the back burner. It appears to me that the only way to impact this intrusive and irritating practice is through national or state legislation. That is a long term, arduous task. If you know of friendly or potentially helpful legislators, let them know how you feel.

If you want to get involved with the process of encouraging legislators to ‘do the right thing’ give me a call.

Transportation

July saw 55 individuals transported to work and home, shopping, legal and medical appointments. If you would like to help, please contact me at the number below.

Broken Windows Policing WITHOUT Police

“Troubling questions concerning the system of violations, fines and collection remain unresolved for me and I will continue investigating” continues to describe my feelings. I am still looking for information to act on. Call me if you have any interactions you would like to share about the City of Little Rock’s Code Enforcement.

Training in Law Enforcement Procedures and Practices

The Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards & Training provides hundreds of on-line classes on topics related to police authority and I have passed 50+ hours of them. If you have questions or concerns about policing in your community, call me.
